World hunger falls to 795 million, eradication is next goal

27 May 2015, Rome--- The latest edition of the annual UN hunger report out is out today. And according to these new figures, the number of global hungry have dropped to 795 million people. That is one in nine people on the planet are still suffering from hunger and undernourishment.

Pietro Gennari, Chief Statistician and Director of the Statistics Division at the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome, elaborates more on the findings and analysis of the 2015 report "State of Food Insecurity in the World". (interview conducted by Sandra Ferrari)
