FAO's response to global food security risks due to war in Ukraine​
In a world with 166 more million people chronically undernourished and 3 billion people with no access to healthy diets, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine “is affecting the whole world’s food security” explains FAO Chief Economist, Maximo Torero. The agricultural production and food supply chains were disrupted as many countries, including those in North Africa and South Asia, ​are dependent on export of cereals and fertilizers from Ukraine and ​the Russia Federation, says Torero.
