Others in attendance at the function included Adamawa State Government Commissioner for Water Resources, Hassan Kaigama, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mrs Dorathy Augustine and Girei Local Area Chairman, Judah Hamisa, among others.

Prof. Gidado said that the water project was one of the many interventions in the state that are supported by FAO and other development partners.

On his side, Mr. Kafeero pointed out that the project is geared towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those aimed at eradicating poverty; hunger; ensuring clean water and sanitation; climate action and on fostering public-private partnerships.

According to him, the use of water for domestic and agriculture needs of households is one sure way to achieve enhanced food security and nutrition and ultimately zero hunger.
