The Regional Organizing Group (ROG) will oversee and coordinate OCOP projects in the FAO Africa region.

On 28-30 November 2022, the FAO Plant Production and Protection Division (NSP) and the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS) jointly organized three online training sessions on the Sustainable Development of Special Agricultural Products (SAPs) for the Implementation of the FAO Global Action on OCOP in the Tropics. 

The OCOP Secretariat held the Fifth Regional Coordination Meeting for the implementation of the FAO One Country One Priority (OCOP) Initiative across the five FAO regions.

Over 70 nations from five FAO regions designated as potential project countries with the first five demonstration countries named – Bangladesh, Egypt, Malawi, Trinidad and Tobago and Uzbekistan.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) today launched its Global Action on Green Development of Special Agricultural Products: One Country One Priority Product (OCOP). This Action aims to develop green and sustainable value chains for special agricultural products, support small and family farmers reap the full benefits of a global market and ultimately help the transformation of current agri-food systems and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
