A newly released report captures the outcomes of the Launch Event and Workshop on the Implementation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) Initiative for Pacific Island countries.

Through thematic training, presentations, and field visits, participants explored China’s advanced agricultural technologies and SAP practices.
The event enhanced regional collaboration, capacity building, and coordination mechanisms for OCOP implementation. It emphasized the importance of local engagement, value chain integration, and China-Pacific cooperation. Overall, the workshop strengthened partnerships and laid a foundation for advancing sustainable agricultural transformation in the Pacific under the OCOP framework.
The OCOP initiative is a flagship programme of FAO aimed at promoting the sustainable development of SAPs for better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life.
Since its global launch by the FAO Director-General in 2021, the OCOP initiative has gained momentum. As of July 2025, 95 members have joined this global effort, collectively promoting 56 SAPs, and supported by growing financial and technical collaboration.
