FAO Pakistan recently collaborated with the University of Sargodha to participate in the launch of the Pakistan One Health University Network (PakOHUN). This significant event, supported by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, served as a pivotal moment in advancing the One Health approach within academic institutions across the country. The launch ceremony gathered over 25 Vice Chancellors from leading universities, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration between the health, agriculture, and environmental sectors. This initiative aims to promote integrated solutions for addressing complex health challenges, recognizing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. FAO’s involvement in the event underscores its commitment to strengthening partnerships that enhance the capacity of universities to tackle pressing health and environmental issues through collaborative research, education, and policy development. By facilitating this dialogue, FAO Pakistan is playing a key role in promoting sustainable and holistic approaches to health, benefiting both the academic community and society at large.
