Building bridges between science and development to combat climate change and its impacts is at the heart of a new partnership agreement between the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) that was signed at an official event held in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, on Monday, 19 December 2016.
Mustapha Sinaceur, Director of FAO’s Liaison Office with the European Union and Belgium said the partnership was based on a “pre-existing, fruitful relationship between our two institutions” and that they shared a vision and common goals for enhancing institutional capacities to address global climate change mitigation and adaptation. “FAO and UCL...03 Nov 2016
Today, FAO and Sapienza entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to underline their long-standing collaboration on the themes of Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture, among others.
The MoU, signed by the Rector of Sapienza, Prof Eugenio Gaudio and by the FAO Deputy Director General for Operations, Mr. Daniel Gustafson, is defined by a solid plan of work based on sharing and exchanging knowledge and expertise, promoting innovative research techniques and developing capacities.

The first ever visit of FAO Director-General to IFPRI’s headquarters in Washington last week celebrated four decades of rich partnership that has generated cutting-edge technical knowledge and enhanced expertise for supporting food security and improved nutrition. In warmly welcoming FAO Director-General Jose Graziano da Silva, IFPRI’s Director General Shenggen Fan noted that the IFPRI-FAO partnership is built on a shared commitment to make agriculture and food systems more inclusive, productive, resilient, and sustainable.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy (the Friedman School) at Tufts University have entered into a collaboration aiming to increase our understanding of what foods and nutrients people are actually consuming around the world.

FAO and the Roma Tre University in Rome have signed an agreement to strengthen their ongoing collaboration in the education sector. FAO will now contribute its expertise in the key themes of Food Security, Nutrition and Sustainable Development to the university Master’s courses.
As a result of the agreement, Roma Tre will formally integrate FAO's materials and resources in its English-language Master’s programs "Human Development and Food Security" and "Cooperatives: Economics, Law and Management".
