Description: Initiated in 2017, the collaboration between FAO and the Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy aims to promote the development of capacities, joint research and studies, data exchange, information sharing and outreach on themes such as family farming, soil and water management, climate change, rural development, and agriculture trade relevant to national and regional priorities identified in FAO’s Regional Initiatives for the European and Central Asian region.

Name of the institution: Sapienza University
Description: Since 2016 Sapienza University and FAO have been collaborating with the goal of enhancing food security and sustainability in agriculture through innovative research, knowledge sharing, capacity development, and responsible investment in agriculture. Joint work implemented since the beginning of this partnership has included sharing expertise through seminars, formulation of academic curricula, establishment of internships, and the launch of online courses related to FAO’s mandate and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Name of the institution: Shanghai Ocean University
Description: In November 2022, FAO and Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU) formalized their collaborative efforts by signing a Memorandum of Understanding in support to ecological and sustainable aquaculture practices. This partnership is poised to drive transformative impacts on a global scale, focusing on sustainable aquaculture approaches that enhance ecosystems, reduce carbon intensity in food production, and bolster resilience to the impacts of climate change. Emphasizing the contribution of aquaculture to sustainable agrifood systems and integration with various sectors, the collaboration underscores key areas such as aquaculture performance, minimizing environmental impact, promoting livelihoods, gender empowerment, data collection and analysis, and fostering South-South and triangular Cooperation. Scientific and technological knowledge product development and information sharing are integral components.

Name of the institution: Texas A&M University System
Description: Capacity development and resilience building are the main areas of collaboration of the partnership established since 2014 between FAO and Texas A&M University System. During the years, activities have been designed to contribute to the One Health Initiative approach by promoting healthy and sustainable animal production. The implementation of early warning systems for livestock feed assessments, the development of capacities to tackle transboundary animal diseases and the establishment of internships and volunteer programmes are just some examples of the joint efforts undertaken by the two organizations.

Description: The agreement signed in 2018 between FAO and the Graduate Institute of Geneva promotes cooperation activities related to access to learning resources, capacity development, and the development of joint outreach activities aimed at promoting the Sustainable Development Goals, such as conferences, roundtables, workshops and panel discussions.
