On Tuesday, 28 November 2017, FAO held a Resource Partners consultative meeting on three fast-spreading animal and plant pests and diseases: Fall armyworm (FAW), Peste des petits ruminants (PPR – also known as sheep and goat plague), and banana fusarium wilt (FW) disease. The meeting assessed the impact of the rapid spread of the diseases, indicating efficient and sustainable means to prevent, manage and, in the case of PPR, eradicate them.
