Modern dairy plants use pure, fresh milk to make milk powder, cheese, yoghurt and other products. The processing plant can only make its products from pure milk. When water is added, the milk is diluted, or weakened, and it is not good for processing into dairy products.

Meet Hajekber Serikbol, a pastoralist community leader in the Western Foothills of Mongolia. They call themselves the "friendship community" and are part of 200-500 million nomadic custodians that take care of our planet, managing rangelands that cover a quarter of the world's land surface. This film is part of the Global Call to Action Initiative, aimed at doubling the global area of land legally recognized as owned or controlled by Indigenous Peoples and local communities by 2020.

The goal of this film is to provide an overview of herders’ traditional ecological knowledge. The herders interviewed are traditional herders who possess a rich knowledge mostly inherited from the family and previous generations, and tested and adapted during their personal life. This film was made for the Regional Assessment for Europe and Central Asia of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). الرحل في حلهم وترحالهم يتحركون عادة إلى مسافات بعيدة وراء الماء والكلأ بسبب النقص الفصلي في المياه وبسبب نمط حياتهم وثقافتهم. وقد تزيد المسافات التي يقطعونها عن مائتي كيلومتر.وتقام دمرهم في نفس المكان في كل عام وفي بعض الأحيان تشيد مباني شبه ثابتة في مكان واحد في خطوط المسارات. وبالتالي غالبا ما تكون مساكنهم بيوتا متحركة أو منازل مؤقتة تشيد من شعر وجلود حيواناتهم أو من النباتات الفصلية التي تنمو في المناطق التي يتوقفون عندها وقلما يستخدمون مواداً ثابتة لبناء مساكنهم. وبذلك يختلف الرحل كثيراً عن السكان المستقرين من حيث ثقافتهم وخصائصهم الإجتماعية والإقتصادية والديموغرافية.
