Production

The pesticide production should meet the requirements of the International Code of Conduct on Pesticide Management to:

ensure that technical grade and formulated pesticide products conform with applicable national standards or FAO specifications for agricultural pesticides, and with WHO specifications for public health pesticides, when available;
ensure that the active ingredient and co-formulants of pesticide products being marketed correspond in identity, quality, purity and composition to the ingredients of the registered pesticide product that have been tested, evaluated and cleared for toxicological and environmental acceptability.

The specifications are developed by the FAO/WHO Joint Meeting on Pesticide Specifications (JMPS) and available here.
