New module on the Globally Harmonized System (GHS)

The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) provides internationally harmonized criteria for classifying chemicals, including chemical pesticides, and standard elements for labelling and safety data sheets. It is widely recognized as a key instrument for protecting human health and the environment and for promoting harmonization in chemical management worldwide.
A new module on the GHS has now been developed for the Toolkit, under the Special Topics page menu. The module offers an entry point for those involved in pesticide registration who wish to apply GHS provisions. Its aim is to make relevant parts of the GHS more easily accessible to regulators, covering institutional aspects, classification procedures, and hazard communication through labels and safety data sheets.
The GHS module reflects recommendations by FAO and WHO that pesticide classification and labelling follow GHS provisions.
You can find the module here: https://www.fao.org/pesticide-registration-toolkit/special-topics/ghs/introduction-to-the-ghs/en/
