This Special Event precedes the Sixth meeting of the Scientific Advisory Committee on the Global Information System (GLIS) and aims to present an overview of the major advances in implementing the Programme of Work on Article 17 of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA) during the last biennium.

The event will be structured in two blocks. In the first block, the Secretariat will launch the new in situ documentation module of the GLIS portal and present recent work on the documentation of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture (PGRFA). The second block will provide an opportunity for major partners to share updates on their recent activities and initiatives relevant to the Global Information System, and discuss the major challenges and opportunities in the field of PGRFA documentation and data exchange.
