International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture

National Information System for the Conservation and Sustainable Utilization of Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture

This database describes the plant genetic resources preserved as a part of the national PGRFA gene bank of Switzerland.

The National information system PGRFA serves as an information pool for conservers and users of plant genetic resources, for breeders of new varieties, for producers and direct marketers, for multipliers of seed, as well as for the general public. The varieties of the PGRFA National genebank can primarily be ordered for their sustainable use for food and agriculture such as research, breeding, seed multiplication, etc. They are usually made available under the standardised material transfer agreement (SMTA) of the International Treaty.
