International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture

Sharing a Treasure: from Peru to Ethiopia

The aim of the Potato Park of Peru is joining forces for the conservation of native varieties of potato, traditional knowledge; improve the maintenance of agricultural production and ensuring food security. The park, with financial support from the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, responds to the challenges of loss of resources caused today, among other factors, by the effect of climate change.
