Latin American and Caribbean Forestry Commission - LACFC
The Latin American and the Caribbean Forestry Commission (LACFC) was established in 1948 as an FAO Statutory Body to provide Member Nations with a technical and political forum to discuss and analyse issues related to forests, as well as their contribution to food security, sustainable food production in the Region and the conservation of natural forest resources. It meets every two years.
FAO encourages wide participation of government officials from forestry and other sectors as well as representatives of international, regional and subregional organizations that deal with forest-related issues in the region, including NGOs, and the private sector.
