Approche Pays Intégrée (API) de la FAO pour la promotion de l’emploi décent des jeunes en milieu rural au Sénégal

L'emploi et le travail décent en milieu rural sont essentiels pour parvenir à la sécurité alimentaire et à la réduction de la pauvreté. L'un des programmes phares de la FAO dans ce domaine est l'Approche Pays Intégrée (API) pour la promotion de l’emploi décent des jeunes en milieu rural. Jusqu'à présent, le programme API a été mis en œuvre dans cinq pays de l’Afrique subsaharienne et de l’Amérique latine. Au Sénégal, la mise en œuvre du programme a commencé en 2015.

Moving forward: selected achievements of the FAO forestry programme in 2016–2017

Moving Forward presents highlights of FAO’s work in forestry in 2016 and 2017 to put the Organization’s Strategic Objectives into action. During the period, in addition to extensive activities under the regular programme, the FAO Forestry programme had more than 170 ongoing projects in over 60 countries aimed at achieving transformational impacts that benefit FAO member countries. Rome-based Agencies' collaboration on Sustainable Food Value Chains for Nutrition

In the context of Agenda 2030, food security, nutrition and sustainable agriculture are essential not only for achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2, but also for the broad set of SDGs.  The Rome-based Agencies (RBAs) - including FAO, IFAD and WFP and Bioversity International - set up a working group in 2015 on nutrition-sensitive value chains, acting also as a platform for knowledge sharing and partnership development.  This brief aims to disseminate the activities undertaken and the way forward of the RBAs working group on sustainable food value chains for nutrition.

This discussion is an opportunity to systematically identify practices that have demonstrated their effectiveness in supporting the livelihoods of the communities and to classify them in such a way that they can be upscaled or replicated elsewhere.
