Seeking inputs on the establishment of a Global Pollinator Platform

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is inviting stakeholders to contribute to the development of a Global Pollinator Platform, a new initiative aimed at strengthening coordination and action to protect pollinators worldwide.

At its Twentieth Regular Session, the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture highlighted the critical role of pollinators in sustaining agrifood systems and called for further work toward establishing a global platform. As a next step, FAO will convene a Global Pollinator Conference on 16–17 September 2026 at its headquarters in Rome to discuss the way forward.

To inform this process, stakeholders across governments, research institutions, Indigenous Peoples, local communities, civil society, and the private sector are invited to complete a short questionnaire. The survey focuses on current gaps, priorities, and practical needs related to pollinator conservation and sustainable use.

The questionnaire takes only a few minutes to complete, and responses will directly inform the design, scope, and priorities of the Global Pollinator Platform. All responses will be anonymized and analyzed in aggregate form.
