The TECA Beekeeping Exchange Group

FAO’s TECA Platform offers a virtual library of agricultural practices and technologies for smallholder farmers that have been tested in the field by farmers and have been validated by technical experts.  The TECA Platform collaborated with Apimondia (International Federation of Beekeeper’s Associations), Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale del Lazio e della Toscana (IZSLT) “M. Aleandri”, Rome, Italy, and the BPractices project to develop a set of 11 practices to assist beekeepers to correctly identify honey bee diseases and to prevent them.   On the occasion of the 1st World Bee Day Celebrations, the 11 practices have been bundled in an illustrative and easy to use Thematic catalogue. The 11 practices can also be consulted online in 3 languages on the TECA Platform.
