The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) organised a training course for ten officers from the Fisheries Division and Coast Guard of Trinidad and Tobago which was held between 13-17 June 2022.

The officers of the recently formed Joint Fisheries Monitoring Centre were trained in the use of a Vessel Monitoring System and Electronic Reporting System for the national fleet of longline vessels.

The weeklong course was funded by the European Union under GCP/INT/413/EC - Third PSMA Global Capacity Development Programme Support Project and Follow-up Action to the Thirty-third Session of the FAO Committee on Fisheries.
