At the 14th Annual Commission meeting of the South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFMO) held in Panama City, in Panama, from 2 to 6 March 2026, the Autoridad de los Recursos Acuáticos de Panamá (ARAP) organised a side event, on 3 March, celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the entry into force of the FAO Agreement on Port State Measures (PSMA).

At the event, FAO delivered a presentation focusing on the important achievements since the coming into force of the PSMA, both by the Parties and FAO, in particular in terms of the capacity building and the development of the Global Information Exchange System (GIES), that constitutes an important operational tool for the Parties of the PSMA.
