EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SITUATION FIRST/LAST OUTBREAK: PPR is endemic.
CONTROL ACTIVITIES: Ring vaccination is generally performed around the outbreak area. There is no systematic vaccination campaigns across the country.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Extensive farming system is widely used but the semi-intensive production system is preferred in ovine fattening farms at the approach of major festival such as Tabaski. Animals are moved from north to south for commercialization; imports are from Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Nigeria and Togo.
