The Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP)'s Training Center for Sustainable Family Farming (CCAFS) is a result of efforts made by various actors to strengthen sustainable family farming and the development of agroecology in these countries. With the partnership established between FAO, ACTUAR, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of São Tomé and Príncipe, the CPLP, the Alimenta CPLP!Platform, and the Mechanism for the Facilitation of Civil Society Participation in CONSAN-CPLP, CCAFS began its activities in December 2020 through a Technical Cooperation Program (TCP) between these entities. The TCP aimed to develop skills for the Training Center through various activities such as training on agroecology, webinars, the development of a digital hub for agroecology in the CPLP, newsletters, and more. With its closure in November 2021, the TCP leaves accomplished the establishment of the physical space for the Training Center in São Tomé and Príncipe and the digital hub ConectAgroecologia, both with actions aimed at promoting agroecology throughout the CPLP.
