The number of people affected by hunger globally has been rising since 2014. This report spotlights the links between food security and nutrition, introduces new analysis of the affordability of healthy diets, presents health and climate-change costs associated with food consumption and concludes by discussing policies and strategies to transform food systems.
The study provides examples from five ecosystem services: provisioning, regulating, supporting, habitat and cultural, as well as demonstrating how biodiversity benefits – both from within and from outside production processes – a given food (i.e. foods from farms, fisheries, forest stands, etc.).
A report on the progress of formulating, planning and developing implementation mechanisms for PMP/AB and an outline of planned activities such as wider consensus building, initial application (pilot testing) and refinement of tools, and resource mobilization for the aquaculture biosecurity programme.
