Although Liberia has made progress in advancing gender equality legislation and women’s rights in agriculture, women still lack capacity-building tools, social protection packages and full financial access to be able to participate properly in community processes.
In Uganda, although women represent 77% of the country’s agricultural labour force they encounter obstacles to land ownership, financial self-sufficiency and access to technologies. This report promotes a more integrated multi-sectoral approach.
The workshop called for strengthening capacities to improve recreational fisheries data collection in the Caribbean, and presented useful tools such as FAO SmartForms, a mobile application platform for fisheries data collection.
The workshop presented the project’s activities and objectives, covering themes ranging from fishers' insurance policies to fish waste management practices.
