Kiemkracht: Perspectives on Pastoralism Film Festival

KIEMKRACHT brings together farmers, chefs, artists, scientists and activists at VIERNULVIER (Ghent) to explore new, imaginative relationships with our food.

This edition focuses on seeds as the foundation of resilient food systems. Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Belgium contributes with a conversation on pastoralism in the context of the UN International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists. Our colleague Anthony Denayer will engage in dialogue with Flemish herders, accompanied by the screening of a selection of film clips about nomadic herders worldwide.

Pastoralism shows how working with nature, through mobility, indigenous knowledge and low fossil fuel use, supports ecosystems and food security for millions of people. It offers valuable lessons for building more resilient food systems in the future.
