South Sudan | Emergency Livelihood Response Programme (ELRP) in Rumbek

Jun 2021

The gallery shows the activities of the Emergency Livelihood Response Programme (ELRP) in Rumbek, Lakes, South Sudan, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) and implemented by FAO through OXFAM International.

With funding from USAID/BHA, FAO organized cash-for-work activities to improve the food security and enhance the agricultural production of vulnerable communities hit by floods.

Cash for work was provided to 4 000 vulnerable food insecure people in Lakes and Jonglei states, with the objective of providing income, building or rehabilitating community productive assets (e.g. irrigation canals, water harvesting systems, etc.) and restoring agricultural activities through land rehabilitation.
