The global report “RIGHT ON! A Synthesis Report on Right to Adequate Food across Asia, Africa and the Americas” has been launched during a two-day event organized in Rome by the International Food Security Network (IFSN) on 30 and 31 March 2016.

The launch has been followed by an International Workshop on the Right to Food which saw the participation of representatives from FAO, ActionAid International, FIAN, Society for International Development (SID), IFSN partners and regional networks across continents, among others. The workshop focused on various issues involving multiple aspects of the right to food, such as key regional challenges and obstacles to the realization of the right to food, integration of the right to food in the on-going international agenda and increasing corporate control of food governance.

The IFSN, a partnership of more than 1100 civil society organizations (CSOs) from 31 countries across continents, strives to strengthen its regional food security networks towards ensuring food and nutritional security in southern countries. The network promotes south-south dialogues and knowledge dissemination and aims at influencing policies and programmes for increased food security at national, regional and international level.
