Rome- This year´s Human Rights Day theme will be focused on the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. After seventy-four years, the principles set out in this document remain the key for greater freedom and dignity for all.

On 10 December 2022, United Nations will launch a year-long celebration that will culminate on 10 December 2023 to mark the Universal Declaration of Human Rights’ 75th Anniversary. This campaign will aim to increase knowledge of the Universal Declaration as a foundational blueprint for taking concrete actions to stand up for human rights.

As the UN Specialized Agency with the mandate to end hunger and malnutrition in all its forms, strengthen food security and healthy diets, and promote agriculture and sustainable, inclusive development, FAO plays a central role in the realization of human rights, most notably the right to adequate food.

Explore this right to food related resources to help you stand up for human rights and make 2023 goes down in history as the year to commit to approach more inclusive and sustainable agrifood systems, in support of the 2030 Agenda.
