This year´s Human Rights Day begins the countdown to the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which is marked by a UN-wide call for dignity, freedom and justice for all. The enjoyment of all human rights, including the right to adequate food, has been under pressure over the past years. FAO’s mandate to secure adequate food for all and ensure people’s freedom from hunger has been the driver of our actions, supporting the accountability of Member Nations, and building up capacities to ensure that food is not a privilege, but a right for everyone. FAO continuous to be firmly committed to the Declaration of Human Rights.
