World Wildlife Day 2025 in Russia

This year's theme is Wildlife Conservation Finance: Investing in People and Planet.
To highlight the importance of the unique roles and contributions of wildlife to people and the planet, FAO Liaison Office with the Russian Federation together with its partners organizes a press conference at TASS News Agency and a conference at the UN House in Moscow on the 3 March 2025.

FAO, UNEP and the National Committee of the UN Decade for Ecosystems Restoration in Russia will hold a joint press conference at TASS, during which the general public will be presented with the mechanisms of business involvement in the implementation of the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration in Russia.

The National Committee will hold a meeting at the UN House in Moscow on the role of business in achieving the UN Decade for Ecosystem Restoration Goals in Russia. The event will present algorithms and mechanisms of the business in the implementation of the National Committee's programmes, partnerships and opportunities.
The conference will also include a presentation of ecosystem types, focus and implementation of projects that may become part of the programmes of the National Committee. Please register, to take part in the seminar virtually. The simultaneous interpretation into English/Russian during the seminar will be provided.
The meeting will also include the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Committee and the UN Global Compact in Russia.

Background
World Wildlife Day is celebrated annually on March 3. It was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 2013 to draw the attention of the global community to the role of wildlife in human life and to call for support for conservation.
