Global Green Growth Forum Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean: Santiago de Chile, 18-19 June 2015
The 3GF-LAC Regional conference convened more than 180 leaders and decision-makers from businesses, finance, governments, cities, international organisations and civil society engaged in discussions on how to further advance inclusive, green growth in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
Regional perspectives on major trends-setting drivers for green growth such as innovative financing models; sustainable consumption and urbanisation were unfolded together with the critical regional issues off scaling up renewable energy and decoupling growth from the overall environmental footprint through sustainable business strategies and systemic change in Latin America.
Great progress and Latin American engagement in the global 3GF public-private collaborative partnerships participating in the regional conference were shown, contributing to bringing these partnerships further in creating concrete and tangible solutions for enabling green growth. At the partnership market place SAVE FOOD and other international and regional partnerships shared innovative partnership ideas and invited new partners to join. Further information on topics discussed at the SAVE FOOD market place session is available here.
The outcome of this year’s 3GF regional conferences will feed into the international processes contributing to reaching the new goals for sustainable development and the climate targets to be agreed in Paris. Moreover, the learnings and feedback will become important and substantial input for the next global 3GF Summit taking place on 20-21 April 2016 in Copenhagen.
