Bangladesh - FAO organized a workshop aimed at exploring and strengthening the linkages between social protection and anticipatory action took place on the 18th of May, 2022, at the Ministry of Disaster Risk Management and Relief, in Dhaka, Bangladesh.  Mid- and senior-level representatives from various Ministries of the Government, German Red Cross Society, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, CARE Bangladesh, World Food Programme, Oxford Policy Management, UNICEF, UNFPA, RIMES, Islamic Relief, Start Network, and Concern Worldwide participated in this event.

Social protection is key to manage disaster risk in a more comprehensive, inclusive and cost-effective manner by providing timely support in anticipation or response to hazards.
