New solutions soil sciences - the key to food security and sustainable use
All Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists and Specialists “New solutions soil sciences – the key to food security and sustainable use” dedicated to the International Year of Soils 2015 took place on May, 28-29, 2015 in Ukraine, Kharkiv.
Organizers of the conference were National Scientific Center “Institute for Soil Science and Agrochemistry Research named after O.N. Sokolovsky”; Council of young scientists and specialists of the NSC “Institute for Soil Science and Agrochemistry Research named after O.N. Sokolovsky”; Kharkiv branch of Ukrainian soil scientist and agrochemists society.
Purpose of the conference was to carry out scientific discussions on actual questions of soil science and agrochemistry, exchange of experience, scientific ideas and research results.
The conference was carried out through the following sessions:
1. Theoretical and practical issues of soil science and agrochemistry
2. Ecological state of agro-ecosystem’s soils and their rational use.
3. New methods of system’s investigation “soil – fertilizer - plant – environment”
4. Modern agrochemical events for nutrition control of plants.
At the conference took part about 30 young scientists; PhD students; members of research institutions and higher educational establishment - Poltava State Agricultural Experimental Station named after M.I.Vavilov of Institute for Pig Breeding and Agricultural Production of NAAS, Lviv National Agrarian University, Kharkiv National Agrarian University named after V.V. Dukuchaev, Uman National University of Horticulture, the NSC “Institute for Soil Science and Agrochemistry Research named after O.N. Sokolovsky”. Oral presentations made about 16 young scientists.
Scientific field trip took place on May, 29, 2015 in Kharkiv region, village named Pechenegi. During the field trip young scientists attended lectures of V.B. Solovey, PH.D., knew a lot of information about morphological and genetic features of soils (5 soil profiles, different relief elements in the village district).
As a result of the conference some young scientists were awarded by the certificate of honour for the best oral presentation (Ya.S. Filimonchuk, A.B. Rokityansky, A.V. Revte, U.L Razumenko). The decision was taken to publish articles of the conference’s participants in the scientific journal “Agrochemistry and Soil Science” (№ 83, 84).
