Soils and Climate Change: Optimising soil carbon storage and minimising greenhouse gas release
24 Feb 2015 - 24 Feb 2015
Join us for the first event in a series marking 2015 as the International Year of Soils. This event will look at the importance of soil in nutrient cycling, and how it relates to food production and climate change.
Liz Baggs, University of Aberdeen & President of the British Soil Science Society will explore how plant-soil interactions drive processes that have the potential to mitigate climate change and support crop production.
Professor Keith Goulding from Rothamsted Research will examine the role of soil in the capture and release of greenhouse gases, and the impact of agricultural practices on these processes.
Location: Rothamsted Research Russell Building West Common, Harpenden Herƞordshire, AL5 2QJ
