The convention’s general topic was “PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP, NEW TECHNOLOGY AND WORLD WIDE CONSERVATION OF OUR SOILS TO SECURE GLOBAL FOOD PRODUCTION”.
During the opening session U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, WFO-OMA President Dr. Evelyn Nguleka and Ajay Markanday, Liaison Office for North America (LOW) emphasized
the importance of agriculture and the role of farmers to feed the growing world population, but also the necessity to protect soils from destruction as they are the source of life for us and future generations.
