Side events at the 56th UN Statistical Commission meeting
Caliper presented in two side events of the 56th meeting of the UN Statistical Commission
This year calendar of side events to the annual UN Statistical Commission meeting (the 56th) featured two events focused on statistical classifications, their management and use, both with a presentation on Caliper.
On February 13th, the event on "Linked Open Data for Statistical Classifications - New Developments in the UN Global Platform and Eurostat" was jointly organized by FAO, UNSD, USGS and Eurostat, and touched on the contribution that statistical classifications can give to data interoperability. Within this framework, the speakers presented Caliper and the EU Vocabulary Platform, two initiatives promoting the interoperability of statistical classifications and adopting LOD technologies. On February 14th, the event "New developments and tools in international statistical classifications" was organized by UNSD and touched on the revision of classifications for products, government expenditures and trafficking persons. It also included a presentation on Caliper and its editing features.
