Summer School: Food Systems in Transition, Bouaké, Côte d'Ivoire, January/February 2018
The course is organized by the World Food System Center at ETH Zurich in partnership with the Swiss National Science Foundation Research for Development Project “Bio-physical and socio-economic drivers of sustainable soil use in yam cropping systems for improved food security in West Africa” (Yamsys) from 27 January to 10 February 2018 in Bouaké , Côte d'Ivoire. It will discuss challenges, opportunities, and innovations in food systems across disciplines, sectors and scales with stakeholders from agricultural production, research, industry, government and civil society. Field visits will be organized during the course. The course will take a special look at yam and cocoa value chains and the significance of these crops for food, nutrition and livelihoods.
