Course on horticulture sub-sector development for emerging markets
Subtitled “Strengthening Value Chains for Progress”, this course is offered by Wageningen UR Centre for Development Innovation from 9 to 27 May 2016 in Wageningen, the Netherlands. The course provides: i) broad expertise on horticultural production in both protected and open-field environments; ii) information on the importance of post-harvest, quality and logistics processes; iii) insights into domestic and international market systems; iv) in-depth knowledge on socio-economic aspects of horticultural value chains; v) value chain analysis, management principles and integrated strategies for horticultural development; vi) attention to international standards for good agricultural practices and quality issues in international trade; vii) insights into relevant institutional and policy developments at both the international and national levels; and viii) understanding of the role of multi-stakeholder processes in developing vibrant markets.
