Climate change in a living landscape: conceptual and methodological aspects of a vulnerability assessment in the Eastern Cordillera Real of Colombia, Ecuador and Peru

This document by WWF presents the results of combined vulnerability analyses (biological, hydrological and socioeconomic). The results demonstrate the need for actions aimed at maintaining environmental services as well as the biological and cultural riches of the region. Priority adaptation measures include actions to develop and strengthen the capacities and production systems of local communities and institutions; maintain and recover ecosystem resilience; strengthen the regional policy framework with considerations of vulnerability and adaptation to climate change; and strengthen the capacity to generate and disseminate information to increase stakeholder participation in decision-making processes.
