Within the scope of the World Food Day 2021 celebrations, FAO Turkey is organizing a digital event to introduce and discuss the report The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2021 (SOFI 2021). Being one of the FAO’s annual flagship reports, the SOFI 2021 is the first evidence-based global assessment to reveal the state of chronic food security in the world at the year the Covid-19 pandemic emerged and spread.

Jointly prepared by FAO, IFAD, UNICEF, WFP and WHO, the report exposes the most up-to-date information, comprehensive assessment and authoritative estimates of the state of hunger and food insecurity at a global scale.

At the event, which will be broadcast live online, alongside the findings of the SOFI 2021, important topics such as transformation of food systems and food system solutions will be discussed by the prominent figures of the field.
