Municipal food policy entrepeneurs: A preliminary analysis of how Canadian cities and regional districts are involved in food system change
2013
Municipalities and regional districts are key players in the Canadian food system. In a cross-Canada survey, we found that 64 local and regional municipalities are working to improve the food system, using a mix of municipal policies, programs and civil-society interventions. Still more Canadian municipalities are engaged in food systems work, but operate without the benefit of the types of organizational arrangements identified in this research.
