A FAO global Event to showcase the impact of COVID-19 on Urban Food Systems
On Wednesday 29 July 2020, FAO hosts the Online Event Urban Food Systems and COVID-19 – Key Results from an FAO Global Survey.
Why a Global Survey?
As part of the FAO Framework for the Urban Food Agenda and to better understand how cities and local governments faced the challenges of food systems disruptions associated with COVID-19, FAO administered a survey questionnaire between April and May 2020.
860 urban actors returned the completed questionnaire, 56% of which were members of local governments.
The Findings
Some key results from the analysis of the survey have been included in the Policy Brief: Cities and local governments at the forefront in building inclusive and resilient food systems - Key Results from the FAO survey “Urban Food Systems and COVID-19” and will be presented through the discussion.
The Event
The event aims at sharing the main findings and key lessons captured in the policy brief and at discussing a way forward to building inclusive and resilient urban food systems and strengthening the urban-rural linkages.
Registration closed on 28 July 2020
