28 June - UN Summit Dialogue to achieve sustainable urban food systems

22/06/2021

On Monday 28 June FAO is convening a Global Dialogue with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), the Global Taskforce of Local and Regional Governments and the Food Systems Summit Secretariat

The Global Dialogue - Empowering Cities and Local Governments to improve food systems globally - will be held virtually from 14.30 (CEST) and it is part of the UN Food Systems Summit 2021 process
Within the Summit, Dialogues are a core component of the engagement process, and they offer a dynamic way for a diverse range of stakeholders to explore their role in food systems and how they can unite around transformative actions in support of sustainable development.

The 28 June Event aims to promote significant actions and commitments towards sustainable urban food systems transformation, through the exchange of perspectives of local governments representatives and various urban food systems stakeholders.

The First Objective of the Dialogue is to share the results of consultations and independent dialogues at city level that have between April and June 2021.  The main takeaways from those city-led dialogues will be brought to the attention of the decision makers for further discussion and integration into the FSS process including Pre-Summit and Summit Event.

The Second Objective is also to unpack bottlenecks and facilitate an evolution of solution clusters that are relevant to, and implementable by, the stakeholders of urban food systems.

The Event will be streamed online on the Urban Food Agenda Homepage and on the FAO Webcast page

Also, a Registration Link (optional) is open if you want to access the Zoom Room (CLOSED)
