The Symposium "Applying the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management in ABNJ" focuses on advancing EAFM implementation by deep-sea RFMOs. Organized by NAFO, ICES and FAO, the three-day event explores the scientific and management aspects of EAFM, with the ultimate aim of developing guidance on the implementation of EAFM. Sessions cover retained and discarded species and vulnerable ecosystems, with insights from demersal, small pelagic, and tuna fisheries.
