The Plant Production and Protection Division (NSP) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is pleased to invite you to the fourth NSP seminar: “Sound Fertilization for Food Security in the Context of the Current crisis,” which will be held virtually via Zoom on 6 July 2022, from 14:00 to 16:00 hours (CEST).

The objectives of the NSP seminar series are: i) raising awareness of the contribution of plant production and protection to achieving the United Nations SDGs at global, regional and national levels; ii) sharing information and knowledge on the strategic direction and technical development in sustainable plant production and protection; and iii) promoting cross-cutting dialogue and collaboration in plant production and protection worldwide. This seminar also serves as a preparatory session for the first-ever FAO Global Conference on Sustainable Plant Production (GPC) with the theme “Innovation, Efficiency and Resilience,” planned on 2-4 November 2022. In particular, the seminar will provide FAO Members, stakeholders and policy makers with information to mitigate the effects of increasing fertilizer input prices while responding to market demands – and, importantly, producing more food with less environmental footprint.
