Launch of the Pastoralist Knowledge Hub

Sheikh Zayed Centre (FAO Headquarters)
27.04.2015
 Rome time
The Pastoralist Knowledge Hub is the first comprehensive initiative bringing pastoralists and international actors together to integrate pastoralist concerns into international policy dialogue.

Several hundred million pastoralists in the world manage rangelands that cover about a third of Earth’s land surface. They are important producers of meat and milk and provide essential ecosystem services, but they are often misunderstood, marginalized and excluded from dialogue.

The Hub enables pastoralists to meet and discuss, and to nominate representatives to voice their concerns at global forums.

At the official launch, FAO, the European Union and other partners of the Hub present the objectives and actors of this new initiative.
