The event aims to shed light on the diverse social, economic and environmental benefits linked to the sustainable management of forests, as well as to highlight forests and trees’ contribution to the achievement of multiple Sustainable Development Goals. It will include keynote addresses by FAO Deputy-Director General, Maria Helena Semedo, European Commissioner, Karmenu Vella, ACP Assistant Secretary-General, Viwanou Gnassounou, Professor and Economist, Jeffrey Sachs, and a video message by European Commissioner, Phil Hogan.
