Each FAO Member country nominates a “National Coordinator for the Management of Animal Genetic Resources”. These National Coordinators monitor national activities in the management of animal genetic resources and liaise with FAO on related matters. To enhance cooperation and provide capacity building, every two years FAO organizes the Global National Coordinators’ Workshop, which immediately precedes the session of the Intergovernmental Technical Working Group on Animal Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture.
