46th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission - Adoption of the Report
Rome time
The Codex Alimentarius Commission is where the world comes together to create food safety and quality standards to protect everyone everywhere. At this meeting 189 Members and 240 observer organizations will consider 30 standards, guidelines and codes of practice for adoption. Five proposals of new work and three priority lists will also be discussed. When Codex texts are adopted they become part of the Codex Alimentarius, or food code, an internationally recognized collection of food safety standards, established to protect consumer health and ensure fair practices in the food trade. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Codex Alimentarius Commission.
